Level Classification:

Each contestant must meet all of the following:

1. Beginner:
   
1. Less than 2 years of Ori Tahiti dance experience.
   
2. Has never competed and/or placed in any Tahitian solo competition.
   
3. Group Leaders/Teachers must verify that they have never placed in any Tahitian solo competition.
   
2. Advance:
   
1. More than 2 years of Ori Tahiti dance experience.
   
2. Has competed and placed in a Tahitian solo competition.
   

Masters Category:

For the Masters Category, group leaders choose ONE vahine and/or ONE tane from their group to represent in this category.

1. These dancers must be all of the following:
   
1. Chosen by their group leader/teacher.
   
2. Minimum 16 years old or older.
   
3. Is not competing in any other categories.
   
2. Dancers in this category must:
   
1. Choreograph a routine to a theme and be at least 1 minute 45 seconds, but not longer than 2 minutes.
   
2. Provide their own live drumming. If your drummers are unable to perform, an audio recording will be accepted.

2. Must send in by Sept 06, 2023. No late submissions.
   
3. Soundtrack must be named as: Group Name, First & Last Name.
   

*Please Note: This is a group entry.

Music:

• House drumming will be provided for all dancers.
  
• No drumbeats will be released prior to the completion. Basic beats will be played for the beginner category, advanced beats will be played for the advanced category.
  
• All dancers in all Divisions will perform an impromptu solo performance to various drum beats.
  
• All solos will be from 1 minute 30 seconds up to 2 minutes 30 seconds maximum.
  
• Masters Category: If you are competing in the master category and do not have live drumming, you will need to send in your audio to: Djrandonsheldon@gmail.com, with your Group Name & First and Last Name.
  

Costume Requirements:

• No hip belts or hand-held adornments are allowed.
  
• Contestant numbers are to be worn visibly on the front of the dancers hip.
  
• Contestants competing in the Beginner categories: solid pareo for their first & final rounds.
  
• Contestants competing in the Advance categories: solid pareo for their first & second rounds. The contestants who are chosen for the advance final round may choose to wear a printed pareo.
  
• Contestants competing in the Masters categories: costumes should be subject to the theme they have chosen.
